Loïs Boisson makes a liberating debut in Seoul
Loïs Boisson secured her very first hard-court victory on the WTA main circuit. At 22, the French player largely dominated local player Ku Yeonwoo, before setting up a major challenge against the world No. 11.
It may have been "just" a first round, but for Loïs Boisson, this match in Seoul is significant. In 1 hour and 23 minutes, she outclassed South Korean wild card Ku Yeonwoo (6-2, 6-1), claiming her very first hard-court victory on the main circuit. An indisputable performance.
"I finally let my shots go," she said with sparkling eyes as she left the court. "Now I have nothing to lose. I want to see how far I can go."
But there's no time to savor the victory for too long. In the second round, Loïs Boisson will face a major challenge: Ekaterina Alexandrova, currently the world No. 11 and an experienced player on the circuit. An opposition of a different caliber, which could further reveal the potential of the French player.
