Daniil Medvedev was eliminated from the Miami Masters 1000 in his opening match by Jaume Munar. After reaching the semifinals last year, the Russian will suffer a significant ranking drop.
Alex de Minaur's victory over Joao Fonseca confirms Medvedev's exit from the Top 10.
The former world No. 1 had been in the Top 10 continuously since February 2023.
He will now try to regain momentum during the clay-court season, a surface he has never favored.
