Medvedev Eliminates Mpetshi Perricard in Dubai
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard's journey in Dubai has come to an end.
The French player was without solutions against Daniil Medvedev. Broken once in each set, he was defeated 6-4, 6-4.
The key to the match was the return, particularly in the second set, where Mpetshi Perricard won only 2 points out of the 22 played on the Russian's serve.
Medvedev, on the other hand, conceded only 3 aces, a strong performance considering the Frenchman's serving level.
He stated in the post-match interview: "It's not easy to play him. His strategy is primarily to be strong on his serve.
I tried to take care of my service and then put the pressure on his. I returned very well today."
He will face Tallon Griekspoor in the quarter-finals, a surprise winner against Ugo Humbert.
