Daniil Medvedev was eliminated in the 2nd round of the Australian Open by Learner Tien in the super tie-break fifth set.
It was a failed tournament for the Russian, who also suffered a number of setbacks, such as a broken racket against the GoPro placed in the middle of the net during his 1st round match against Kasidit Samrej.
He was initially fined $10,000 for this gesture.
Then, for his behavior in the 2nd round (penalty point received, verbal explanation with the chair umpire) and his absence from the post-match press conference, Medvedev was heavily fined $66,000.
A total fine of $76,000, which will be the only souvenir he takes home from Australia this season.
