Medvedev Honest About 11 AM Matches: "I Don't Like It"
Having secured a spot in the round of 16 at the Rome tournament, Medvedev will face Musetti, this year's Monte-Carlo finalist. Typically critical of clay courts, Medvedev has shown steady improvement on the surface year after year. He shared his thoughts in an interview reported by Tennis World Italia:
"I’ve seen statistics showing that my numbers in clay-court Masters 1000 events are better than those in hard-court Masters 1000s. It’s true, I’ve lost a few matches in early rounds, which has rarely happened on clay. So, I feel good here in Rome, and I’m looking forward to the next match."
During the conversation with the journalist, the Russian also touched on the topic of match schedules, particularly those set in the morning:
"I don’t think there are many players who enjoy playing at 11 AM, even though I know some prefer the morning, like Grigor Dimitrov, for example, who wakes up early. As for me, if I don’t set an alarm, I wake up at 10, so I don’t like it."
