Mensik and Machac withdraw from Washington, Bonzi and Tien enter main draw
From July 21 to 27, the ATP 500 tournament in Washington will take place in the U.S. capital. However, the organizers have recorded the first two withdrawals in recent hours, as the top two Czech players in the ATP rankings, Jakub Mensik (18th) and Tomas Machac (22nd), have both pulled out.
Two players benefit from these withdrawals to enter the main draw, including Benjamin Bonzi. The world No. 69 will skip the qualifiers and becomes the fifth French player to compete in the 2025 edition after Alexandre Muller, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, Gaël Monfils, and Quentin Halys. Another player securing his spot is Learner Tien. The American left-hander, ranked 67th in the ATP, will aim to shine in front of his home crowd.
