Moïse Kouamé Expected to Compete in Madrid Masters 1000 Qualifiers
He made a name for himself by reaching the quarterfinals of the Roland-Garros Junior tournament last year. Now ranked 969th in the world, Moïse Kouamé, born in March 2009 and aged 16, continues to climb the ranks.
After finishing as a finalist in a Futures tournament for the first time in his career in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, in early March—just days after celebrating his 16th birthday—Kouamé is being hailed as the future gem of French tennis.
Moreover, his performances have not gone unnoticed by the organizers of major tournaments. According to information gathered by our colleagues at Univers Tennis, the youngest player currently ranked in the ATP’s top 1000 is expected to compete in the Madrid Masters 1000 qualifiers, where he is likely to receive a wild card.
If confirmed, this would mark Kouamé’s first appearance in the draw of a tournament of this caliber, giving him the opportunity to enter a main tour event for the very first time in his young career.
