Monfils confident about the next generation of French tennis: "We have a pool of talent".
Gaël Monfils is still the poster boy for French tennis. At the age of 38, the Frenchman continues to delight on the courts.
In a video posted on his YouTube channel in recent hours, Monfils was asked by one of his subscribers about the new generation of French players on the ATP circuit.
The 2016 Monte-Carlo finalist was full of praise for several players: "I'm very optimistic. Ugo Humbert is the French number 1, but there's also Arthur Fils, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, Arthur Cazaux, Corentin Moutet and Gabriel Debru, who's coming on nicely.
We have a pool of talent, so I'm not worried about the next generation," he declared.
