Monfils reflects on the Paris Olympics: "It was a crazy gamble".
At 38, Gaël Monfils is still running. His season was marked by his victory over Carlos Alcaraz in Cincinnati.
Now ranked 55th in the world, the Frenchman has posted a video on his YouTube channel in the form of an FAQ.
He answered questions from his subscribers, notably about his most memorable tournament of the past season.
For him, there's only one possible answer: "The Olympic Games, without hesitation, especially because they were held in Paris, at Roland-Garros.
The atmosphere was exceptional, even if I didn't play the match I wanted to. I came up against a solid opponent, Lorenzo Musetti.
In doubles, it was incredible. So yes, the Olympics remain the most memorable tournament of 2024. My main objective was to qualify for the Olympics, and I did it.
It was a bit of a crazy gamble, but achieving it had been my dream for a year. Achieving that goal made me really satisfied," he says.
