Moutet Gets Revenge in Beijing: Frenchman Dominates Griekspoor and Advances to Round of 16

Corentin Moutet wanted to continue his good form. After reaching the semifinals in Hangzhou last week, the Frenchman began his ATP 500 tournament in Beijing against Tallon Griekspoor.
A tricky first-round match against the Dutchman, ranked 31st in the world, who is not in the best form of his season, having entered this first round on a streak of six consecutive losses.
The match was tight and competitive in both sets. Both players held their serves well until the end of the first set, when Moutet chose to accelerate and converted his only break point of the set to take the lead.
In the following game, he confirmed his advantage to win the first set. Very efficient in capitalizing on his opportunities against his opponent's serve, Moutet also converted his only break point of the second set before clinching the match after a tense final game in which he saved set points (6-4, 7-5 in 1 hour and 48 minutes).
Moutet qualifies for the round of 16 in Beijing and will face Alexander Zverev or Lorenzo Sonego for a spot in the quarterfinals. Most importantly, he managed to defeat Tallon Griekspoor for the first time in his career. Before today, the two had faced each other in the final in Mallorca earlier this summer, and Griekspoor had won.
