Impressive performance by Mannarino: Frenchman defeats Bublik in first round of Beijing tournament

At 37 years old, Adrian Mannarino proved he's still in form after delivering an exceptional performance against Alexander Bublik at the ATP 500 tournament in Beijing.

World No. 60 Adrian Mannarino had successfully cleared the qualifying rounds of the ATP 500 Beijing tournament with victories against Andrea Vavassori and Jesper De Jong. In the first round, however, the Frenchman drew Alexander Bublik, who's been in great form with four titles won in 2025, including the most recent one just days ago in Hangzhou against Valentin Royer.

A very challenging draw for Mannarino, who hadn't faced the Kazakh player since January 2020 (a 6-3, 6-4 defeat in the first round in Doha). But the 37-year-old player delivered a high-quality match (14 winners including 8 aces, only 2 unforced errors, and no breaks conceded) to win in straight sets (6-3, 6-2 in 59 minutes).

Mannarino thus ends his opponent's four-match winning streak and advances to the round of 16 where he will face the winner of the match between Lorenzo Musetti and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
