Moya should join Sinner's team in early 2026

Jannik Sinner's first part of 2025 has been very eventful. Winner of the Australian Open against Alexander Zverev in late January, the Italian, world number one, was subsequently suspended for three months and made his return during the Rome Masters 1000 in recent days.
After an almost perfect run, he reached the final of this home tournament but seemed to lack energy during his second set against Carlos Alcaraz, who ultimately ended his streak of 26 consecutive victories (7-6, 6-1).
Early in the season, Sinner also announced the retirement at the end of the season of one of his coaches, Darren Cahill (59 years old). The Australian, who notably led Simona Halep to the top during their collaboration, has contributed to Sinner's rapid progress over the past few years.
In search of a new coach to assist Simone Vagnozzi who will remain by his side, the young 23-year-old player seems to have made his choice which should fall on Carlos Moya.
The former Spanish professional tennis player is expected, according to information from the Russian media More, to start working with Jannik Sinner in early 2026 to prepare for the next season.
"The world number one has agreed with the Spanish mentor to begin a collaboration starting in 2026. Let us recall that Sinner's current coach, Darren Cahill, will end his career at the end of this season," it reads.
Former coach of Milos Raonic and having also worked with Rafael Nadal, Moya, 48, is thus set to start a notable new experience with the current best player in the world.
