Mpetshi Perricard reaches the second round for the first time in his career at Roland-Garros

Mpetshi Perricard faced Bergs in his first round of Roland-Garros 2025.
In a packed Suzanne-Lenglen court, the Frenchman, who was a seeded player for the first time in his career in Paris, initially saw the Belgian take the lead in the first set (4-6), before leveling the score (6-3) in the second set.
Neck and neck in the third set, both players had to be separated by a tie-break. Trailing 0-5, the Frenchman staged an incredible comeback to take the set (7-5). The 32nd-ranked French player then broke his opponent to win his first match in the main draw of Roland-Garros. The match lasted 3 hours and 18 minutes and concluded with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 7-6, 6-4.
At 21 years old, he emerges from a series of two first-round defeats in five sets in Paris. Having won the tournament in Bordeaux last week, Mpetshi Perricard will attempt to defeat the winner of the match between Dzumhur and Tirante in the next round.
