Musetti: "I needed time. This year is full of challenges for me."
Qualified for the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in his career thanks to his victory over Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (4-6, 6-3, 6-3, 6-2) at Wimbledon, Lorenzi Musetti appeared very relieved to finally take this next step.
The Italian's results at the end of the 2023 season and the beginning of the 2024 season were very complicated. A difficult period from a tennis point of view, mainly due to the upheaval in his personal life when he became a father a few days after celebrating his 22nd birthday.
Lorenzo Musetti: "This year is full of challenges for me, full of new experiences. With my girlfriend's pregnancy, then becoming a father. A lot of things happened and changed.
So I probably needed time to find a balance with all that. But I'm very happy, because I never stopped working and I never stopped believing. Everyone close to me, my team, my family, all the people I love, have never stopped supporting me and pushing me to do better."
