Video - An emotional Musetti: "It's really a phenomenal day for me".
Lorenzi Musetti was overwhelmed by emotion after beating Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (4-6, 6-3, 6-3, 6-2). Qualified for the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the first time in his career, the Italian struggled to find words in his post-match interview.
But he didn't forget to praise the Frenchman, particularly his monumental serve (see video below).
Lorenzo Musetti: "I'm not usually very emotional, but today I think I'm going to be... I've been dreaming of this moment ever since I was... sorry (too much emotion). Ever since I was a child, I've always had a fantastic family who've always supported me to make my dream come true... It's hard to talk, sorry. [...]
This is such an important day for me. I'm really happy with this victory against a formidable opponent (Mpetshi Perricard). I had a bit of trouble at first with his serve, just a bit (laughs). You can't imagine how difficult it is to return his serve. Even at the end, at 0-40 in the last game, he made me doubt again by serving two aces. It really is a phenomenal day for me."
