"My back hasn't recovered 100%," warns Raducanu ahead of her debut at Roland-Garros

Emma Raducanu wants to be ready in time. Injured in the back in Strasbourg this week, the 22-year-old British player, ranked 42nd in the world, put up a strong resistance against Danielle Collins before losing in three sets. After the match, she admitted to suffering from back spasms and hoped to be ready to participate in Roland-Garros.
Facing Wang Xinyu in the first round, the 2021 US Open winner could meet Iga Swiatek as early as the second round but has admitted that she is not yet in full physical condition.
"My back hasn't recovered 100%. I had spasms in Strasbourg, and I've been trying to manage them as best as possible with treatment. I went to the practice courts last night (Friday) and this morning (Saturday).
I felt pretty good; I had good sensations. But obviously, it’s not the same at all when playing a competitive match. I had spasms before the Australian Open, and the situation was worse than now.
I underwent treatment with the physiotherapists, and we had to use needles. I was very scared because it's one of my biggest phobias, but it was probably my only chance to play in Melbourne. Since then, I know it helps me even if I'm a bit scared of it," Raducanu assured.
