My dream is to win the tournament, not just reach the semifinals," Boisson declares her ambitions after qualifying for the Roland-Garros final four
Loïs Boisson continues to inspire French women's tennis by securing her spot in the Roland-Garros semifinals after defeating Mirra Andreeva.
The 22-year-old, competing in her first Grand Slam, will face Coco Gauff tomorrow for a place in the tournament final. Match after match, she reaffirms her ambitions despite mounting media pressure:
"I feel good here. I’m really happy to be here, and I hope it lasts as long as possible. It’s amazing to achieve this. It’s not necessarily a given, but the hard work I’ve put in helps me win these kinds of matches.
I don’t pay attention to everything happening around me. I notice it a little—when I walk down the street, people ask for photos, which didn’t happen before. But everything’s fine, I don’t plan to change much. I stick to what I know. I stay focused, wake up in the morning, play my match, recover in the evening.
I try to sleep well, but my routine stays the same. [...] I think every kid who plays tennis dreams of playing a Grand Slam. As a French player, winning Roland-Garros is an even bigger dream. I’ll chase that dream. My dream is to win the tournament, not just be in the semifinals.
