"My goal this season is to return to the top 10," Svitolina reveals her ambitions

Elina Svitolina has perfectly started her French Open tournament. Scheduled first thing in the morning on Court Suzanne-Lenglen this Sunday, the Ukrainian, seeded number 13, won against Zeynep Sonmez, ranked 74th in the world, in her opening match (6-1, 6-1).
This marks her 30th career victory at the Parisian Grand Slam. Ranked 7th in the race standings, Svitolina is having a very good start to the season, highlighted by a quarter-final at the Australian Open, a semi-final in Madrid, and her first title in two years won in Rouen against Olga Danilovic.
After the match against the Turk, Svitolina, who will face the Hungarian player Anna Bondar in the next round on Wednesday, expressed her ambitions for the rest of the current season.
"It was a good match on my part. I felt like I was playing well. From the start, it was important to stay focused. It's never easy in the early rounds. I'm glad I was able to show a good level of play from the first to the last point.
I have gained a lot of experience over the past years. I feel like I'm hitting the ball harder, but I also feel my serve is working well.
I know I will always play my best tennis at Roland-Garros.
Now, I feel like I'm not so far from the top ten in the world. My goal for the season is to play good tennis and return to the top 10," Svitolina, ranked 14th in the WTA rankings, told Tribuna.
