Parry falls in opening match against Montgomery at Roland-Garros

Invited by the organizers, Diane Parry stops in the first round of this 2025 Roland-Garros. Opposed by Robin Montgomery, the world's 93rd-ranked player this week in the WTA ranking was outplayed in many aspects of the game by the American.
In just under an hour of play, Montgomery wrapped up the match, losing only three games (6-2, 6-1). With only 7 winners against 20 unforced errors, Parry succumbed to the 20-year-old player, who is ranked 115th in the world.
After suffering a knee injury at the start of the season, the player from Nice has participated in tournaments since Madrid but has not passed the second round in the Spanish capital, in Saint-Malo (defeated by Osaka), in Paris, and in Strasbourg.
Meanwhile, Montgomery secures her first career victory in the main draw of Roland-Garros and will face Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, who earlier in the day defeated the number 9 seed, Emma Navarro (6-0, 6-1), in the second round.
