Swiatek reassures herself for her start at the French Open

Swiatek began her title defense at the French Open. Victorious four times at Roland-Garros, the Polish player faced Sramkova (42nd) in the first round on the Philippe-Chatrier court.
Without conceding a single break point, the world number 5 won the first set (6-3). Despite some inaccuracies in the following set, she won her 22nd consecutive match in Paris (6-3, 6-3) in 1h23 of play.
The 23-year-old player needed reassurance after an early season below her standards. Still searching for her first trophy this season, Swiatek stumbled in the semifinals of three WTA 1000 tournaments (Doha, Indian Wells, Madrid) and was eliminated in the second round of Rome, a tournament she won last year.
After this victory, Iga Swiatek became the current player with the most matches won in the main draw of women's singles at the French Open (36). In the next round, she will face the winner of the match between Raducanu and Wang.
