Nadal and Federer back in exhibition? Toni Nadal's response
The last showdown between Nadal and Federer on the professional circuit dates back to Wimbledon, where the Swiss triumphed in the semifinal in four sets (7-6, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4). That match added to the 39 previous encounters between the two legends of world tennis.
While Federer has been retired for nearly three years, Nadal also announced the end of his career a few years later. However, according to Rafa’s uncle, another Fedal duel could still happen—this time in an exhibition match:
"I know him [Rafa] well enough to say he’s enthusiastic about playing exhibition matches with Federer. Tennis has been vital in his life, and that can’t just disappear overnight. I don’t know the details, but I’m convinced he’ll do it.
Probably in the coming months or in 2026, he’ll train hard again to be ready for these exhibitions," Toni Nadal said in an interview shared by the Olly Tennis account.
