Nadal reacts to Murray and Djokovic's collaboration: "It's a good combination"
Rafael Nadal retired during the Davis Cup last November with Spain. Since then, the Mallorcan has made several public appearances, notably at the Laureus Awards where he won the Sporting Icon award.
He is the third player of the Big Four to hang up his racket—first Federer in 2022, then Murray in 2024. The Brit didn’t wait long to return to action, as he surprisingly teamed up with Djokovic.
In an interview with *The Telegraph*, Nadal reflected on this collaboration. The King of Clay admitted he didn’t see it coming:
"I was surprised that, right after retiring, Andy wanted to dive into a project involving travel. However, I understand that being with Novak is very appealing.
I think being coached by one of his greatest rivals is an extra motivation for him, so I believe it’s a good combination.
Andy is passionate about tennis and saw this as a great opportunity. I hope they do well, and I truly wish them all the best from the bottom of my heart."
