Nishikori withdraws from Wimbledon and will miss a Grand Slam for the second time this season
After a promising start to the season with a final in Hong Kong and a return to the top 100, Kei Nishikori gradually faded from the scene due to physical issues.
He was unable to compete at Roland-Garros, and the same will be true for Wimbledon, where his withdrawal was announced today. During the clay-court swing, he also pulled out of the Estoril and Rome tournaments before retiring in Geneva. This withdrawal allows Billy Harris to enter the main draw.
Another notable absence is Alejandro Tabilo, who recently revealed a muscle injury that will keep him off the courts for several weeks. Marin Cilic, the 2017 Wimbledon finalist, will now be present in the main draw.
