No upset for Jeanjean, knocked out by Kasatkina in the second round of Roland-Garros

Léolia Jeanjean will not reach the third round of Roland-Garros, defeated by world No. 17 Daria Kasatkina in straight sets (6-4, 6-2).

The Frenchwoman, who had advanced to the second round after Irina-Camelia Begu retired, put up a strong fight against the Australian No. 1 but failed to capitalize on her break opportunities (3/12) to secure the win.

Kasatkina, who had lost three consecutive matches before the tournament, will now face Paula Badosa in the third round.

Jeanjean, who earned her first Grand Slam victory since 2023 on Monday, is set to enter the WTA Top 100, virtually ranked 90th.
