Our sport is generating a lot of excitement right now," says Shelton about American tennis
During a press conference, Ben Shelton discussed the current popularity of tennis. For him, the sport is experiencing a resurgence of interest, particularly in the United States, thanks to the success of its players.
He stated: "Cori Gauff and Taylor Townsend are very close to me. I’ll be playing mixed doubles with Taylor at the US Open. It’s a fantastic opportunity for Americans in tennis right now.
I think our sport is generating a lot of excitement at the moment. I believe tennis is reaching a different audience than it did before. In the U.S., it’s thanks to stars like Cori Gauff, Frances Tiafoe, and Taylor Townsend.
But at the same time, it’s not just because of the Americans—it’s also because of the Europeans. It’s really great to see.
