Paolini, Injured in the Knee, Withdraws from Hopman Cup
Jasmine Paolini left Wimbledon after a second-round exit. Last year’s finalist on the London grass, the Italian will drop to No. 9 in the world rankings.
She was also expected to compete in Bari for the Hopman Cup, scheduled for July 16–20. However, she announced her withdrawal on social media this Thursday:
"Hello everyone, I’m sorry to tell you that I won’t be in Bari for the Hopman Cup. I need to recover from a knee injury, and my body needs some time. At the same time, I’m happy to announce that Lucia Bronzetti, with whom I won the BJK Cup last year, will play alongside Flavio Cobolli.
I’m sure they’ll give their best to bring victory to Italy. I’ll be cheering for them from home. I hope you’ll all head to the Fiera del Levante from July 16–20—it’ll be a fantastic week of tennis."
