Paolini: "We Are Truly Lucky to Play This Sport and Be at This Level"
Jasmine Paolini wants to confirm her success. After an exceptional last season, during which she won the Dubai WTA 1000 and reached her first two Grand Slam finals at Roland-Garros and Wimbledon, the Italian, now ranked 6th in the world, will do everything to maintain her position as high as possible in the rankings.
A semifinalist in Miami in recent days, Paolini was one of the prestigious guests on Caroline Garcia’s *Tennis Insider Club* podcast alongside Elena Rybakina and Maria Sakkari. She discussed her ambitions for 2025, emphasizing her desire to make the most of her career.
"Often, people ask me if I have expectations for 2025. I always say it’s a new story, different from the one I wrote last year. You have to focus on the present, on what I can do and control on the court.
It’s not easy, because you also have expectations for yourself, and other people expect things from you. But at the same time, I believe we are truly lucky to play this sport and be at this level.
Many people who play tennis dream of reaching this level. We have to try to see the positive side, even if it’s not always easy. It’s true that we’re often alone with our team, traveling frequently. But in the end, we are truly privileged people," Paolini explained.
