Parry Shines as She Defeats 12th Seed at Wimbledon

Parry displayed impressive resilience to overcome Shnaider in straight sets (6-4, 6-1) during the second round of Wimbledon.

After a hard-fought qualifying campaign, the Frenchwoman secured her spot in the main draw of Wimbledon. Following her victory over Martić in the first round, the 22-year-old faced a formidable opponent in Shnaider, the tournament’s 12th seed.

Unshaken, the world No. 118 efficiently claimed the first set before dominating the second. In just over an hour, she defeated the 21-year-old Russian 6-4, 6-1. This marks her best performance of the season and the second-biggest win of her career after defeating Krejcikova at Roland-Garros in 2022.

With this victory, she advances to the third round of the British Grand Slam for the second time and notches her seventh win in nine grass-court matches this season.

In the next round, she will aim to triumph against local favorite and world No. 51 Kartal for a spot in the quarterfinals.
