Pegula and Gauff Swiftly Advance to Quarterfinals in Stuttgart

World No. 3 Jessica Pegula and No. 4 Coco Gauff made quick work of their respective matches on Thursday in the Stuttgart tournament.

Pegula, recently crowned champion in Charleston, secured her sixth consecutive tour victory by crushing Magdalena Frech 6-1, 6-1 in just 59 minutes. Her dominant performance seemed to inspire Gauff, who matched her compatriot’s scoreline, defeating lucky loser Ella Seidel 6-1, 6-1 in only 57 minutes.

Both players will need to confirm their strong form in tomorrow’s quarterfinals, where they will face much tougher opponents.

Pegula is set to take on Ekaterina Alexandrova, who upset Mirra Andreeva, while Gauff will challenge Jasmine Paolini—a player she hasn’t faced on tour since the 2023 Cincinnati tournament.
