Pegula defeats Anisimova in New Jersey and they will face off again a day later
Originally scheduled against Emma Raducanu, Amanda Anisimova's match ended up being against Jessica Pegula.
Anisimova, who is having the best season of her career, had gained the upper hand over her opponent in the first set, winning it 6-3.
But Pegula managed to bounce back by taking the tie-break in the second set and then winning the decisive super tie-break.
She ultimately triumphed with a score of 3-6, 6-3, 10-8. The two players will face each other again this Monday.
