"People think that because I'm British, I must be incredible on grass," says Draper ahead of Wimbledon

In an interview shared by *Punto de Break*, current world No. 4 Jack Draper discussed several topics as Wimbledon approaches. Touted as one of Britain's great hopes for this year's second Grand Slam, the player was quick to clarify that being British doesn’t automatically make him a strong grass-court player:
"Grass is a surface that suits my game very well. However, people assume that because I'm a British tennis player, I must be amazing on this surface. I hardly ever play on grass—it’s tough. That said, it’s true I’ve beaten them (Alcaraz and Sinner) on grass, and I do feel confident. It complements my strengths, and I aspire to become even more effective on it.
Obviously, outdoor and indoor hard courts are probably the surfaces I’ve enjoyed most in my career so far, but I’m still quite inexperienced on grass. So, I think it’ll be interesting to see how I perform next week and, of course, throughout the rest of my career."
His remarks make sense, especially since the Brit hasn’t been handed an easy draw for Wimbledon 2025. He could face Cilic in the second round and Bublik as early as the third round.
