Pliskova, Absent Since US Open, Undergoes Another Ankle Surgery

Former world number one Karolina Pliskova has not played a single match this season. Absent since her withdrawal after just three points in the second round of the US Open against Jasmine Paolini, the Czech player is still struggling with her ankle.
As she herself announced in recent days, the two-time Grand Slam finalist underwent surgery again, after already having a similar procedure last September following her injury in New York. She shared the news on her Instagram account.
"Here we go again… Due to persistent pain, I had to undergo another minor ankle surgery. Everything went well, and I’m already feeling better. I hope to be back on court very soon.
Thank you for your support and all your messages," Pliskova wrote on social media. The 33-year-old also admitted she does not yet know when she will be able to return to competition on the WTA tour.
