Pliskova delays her return: "My leg isn’t healing as I hoped"
Karolina Pliskova hadn’t really shared any updates since her withdrawal from the Australian Open. She is still recovering from an injury sustained at the US Open.
She says: "There have been some complications; my leg isn’t healing as I hoped. We’ve decided to proceed with a minor surgical procedure. I’m scheduled for an arthroscopy on Wednesday.
Both of my tendons ruptured, and they had to perform additional ligament work. I hope it won’t take too long, that I’ll be able to walk immediately after the surgery, and that things will progress quickly.
But of course, my return to the court is postponed again. It’s not easy mentally. I’ve done everything I could to improve the situation.
I wanted to play at the Australian Open, I had so many plans for this year… I don’t even dare say when I’ll be able to come back."
