Pliskova far from a return to competition: "I can't race yet".
Karolina Pliskova, former world No.1, ended her 2024 season after a 2nd-round exit at the US Open.
The Czech player then underwent surgery on her ankle, an injury which is keeping her off the courts for the time being.
In an interview with iDNES, Pliskova spoke about her convalescence and when she might return to the circuit: "I can't run yet and I'm still away from tennis. I don't want to rush things.
I've already made a mistake with my hand: I played for a month and a half and didn't win anything. It didn't make sense.
I'll use my protected ranking and maybe come back for Indian Wells or Miami in March. That is, of course, if there are no other problems."
