Qualified for the Masters final, Sinner joins the list of tennis legends

Jannik Sinner unleashed his tennis tonight against Casper Ruud to earn the right to play another final at the Turin Masters, against Taylor Fritz.

The Italian was impeccable throughout the week, winning all his matches in two sets and losing his serve twice after four matches played.

With this perfect run to the final, Sinner joins a list of several tennis legends who have reached the Masters final without losing a set. The most recent players on the list are Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.

Tonight, he also became the youngest player since Lleyton Hewitt (in 2001 and 2002) to contest two consecutive Masters finals.

And finally, he could join Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in having won three major hard-court tournaments (Australian Open, US Open and Masters) in the same season.

The Swiss had achieved this on three occasions in 2004, 2006 and 2007. Djokovic joined him in this category in 2015, before repeating the feat last year.
