Raducanu discusses her new coach: "He's helped me with my game, but also off the court"

Since her US Open victory in 2021, Emma Raducanu has endured a difficult period marked by multiple injuries and inconsistent performances.
Known for frequently changing her coaching staff, the British player hired a second coach this year, Mark Petchey. He replaces Vladimir Platenik after their brief collaboration.
In an interview with the BBC, the 22-year-old spoke about her relationship with Andy Murray’s former coach:
"I’m happy with the current setup—it’s working well. I really like him, and I knew him well before the 2021 US Open. We’re keeping things informal for now, but it’s working.
I feel like I can trust him. There’s nothing set in stone yet, but we’re taking things step by step. He’s helping me as much as he can alongside his current commitments.
I’m happy with the training block and how I’m feeling on court right now. I think I’ve put in good work on my tennis, and I’m looking forward to testing it in matches. We’ve created our own little bubble, and it’s been nice to work while having fun and enjoying it.
He’s helped me in many areas, but also off the court—finding ways to challenge me mentally and constantly pushing me, which I love."
