Raducanu Withdraws from BJK Cup and Makes Major Decision for Clay Court Season
Emma Raducanu, who reached the quarterfinals in Miami last week, has decided not to join the British team for the first round of the competition against the Netherlands and Germany (April 10-12).
Ranked 48th in the world this week, the 22-year-old player prefers to rest after competing in six consecutive tournaments since the Australian Open. According to reports from iNews, she will undergo a two-to-three-week training block on clay before returning to competition.
As a result, Raducanu will withdraw from the Rouen Open (April 14-20), where her participation had been announced by the organizers. She could potentially make her comeback at the WTA 1000 in Madrid, which begins on April 22.
