WTA Rankings: Eala Breaks into Top 100 After Historic Miami Run, Sabalenka Well Ahead of Swiatek
After twelve days of intense competition at the WTA 1000 in Miami, the rankings saw some changes this Monday.
For once, the spotlight isn’t on the Top 10 today but rather on the 75th spot in the world. That position is held by Alexandra Eala, who stunned Miami by reaching the semifinals with victories over Ostapenko, Keys, and Swiatek, securing her debut in the Top 100.
The Rafael Nadal Academy protege has become the first Filipino player in history to achieve such a ranking.
At the top, there’s no doubt—Aryna Sabalenka remains the dominant force in women’s tennis and will hold that position for a while.
With a 3,071-point lead over her rival Iga Swiatek (10,541 points vs. 7,470), the Belarusian can approach the clay season with confidence, as the Pole has much more at stake in the coming weeks with 4,195 points to defend.
Elsewhere in the Top 10, Mirra Andreeva drops one spot (7th), benefiting Jasmine Paolini (6th). Elena Rybakina (10th), who suffered an early exit in Florida, is on the verge of falling out of the Top 10, holding just a 59-point lead over Emma Navarro (11th).
Among other notable moves, Elina Svitolina returns to the Top 20 for the first time since May (18th), while Emma Raducanu climbs twelve places after her Miami quarterfinal run (48th).
Finally, there’s now only one French player left in the Top 100, with Varvara Gracheva occupying the 66th spot. Caroline Garcia, after twelve years among the world’s top 100 players, finds herself ranked 101st this week.
