Rinderknech describes the Shanghai hell: "It's tough for everyone"
Arthur Rinderknech continues to impress: after defeating Alexander Zverev for the second time this year, the Frenchman discussed the unbearable playing conditions in Shanghai. "It's tough for everyone," he breathed out after qualifying for the round of 16.
For the second time this year, Arthur Rinderknech claimed the scalp of world No. 3 Alexander Zverev, this time on the hard courts of Shanghai (4-6, 6-3, 6-2).
A success that allows him to reach the tournament's round of 16 for the first time in his career. The Frenchman, accompanied by Lucas Pouille, discussed the playing conditions in his post-match interview:
"It's tough. It's tough for everyone. You saw it. 50% of matches don't reach their conclusion and 50% of matches end with players having cramps or vomiting.
We use a lot of t-shirts. Fortunately, the laundry service works very well. I'm going to have a lot of laundry for the next match, that's for sure."
