Robson analyzes Murray's first match as coach: "I was surprised at how much he expressed himself"
Eurosport consultant Laura Robson was on court for the match between Novak Djokovic and Nishesh Basavareddy.
In particular, the former player was able to observe at close quarters the attitude of the Serb's new coach, Andy Murray.
The latter was present on the new benches installed by the tournament, which enable players to be coached more directly.
Djokovic and Murray, for example, had a tactical conversation before the start of the fourth set (see video below).
After the match, Robson gave his first impressions of Andy Murray's new role: "I managed to keep an eye on him. He didn't stay for the post-match interview, he got off the court quickly.
He's not used to sitting and watching a match for three hours, so he was stretching his back.
I was surprised by how much he expressed himself. I was surprised to hear: 'Come on Novak, keep up your energy'. I also saw hand signals.
In a way, it was much more than I could have imagined."
