Roddick impressed by Djokovic: "He's not like us".

Roddick impressed by Djokovic: He's not like us.

Although retired, Andy Roddick hasn't given up tennis altogether. As an enthusiast, he continues to keep an eye on the circuit and doesn't hesitate to give his opinion. Speaking on Tennis Channel, the American champion confided in us about Novak Djokovic.

As a reminder, the current world number 3 suffered a knee injury in his Round of 16 match against Cerundolo at Roland Garros, a match he went on to win (6-1, 5-7, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3).

Having given up on his quarter-final match against Casper Ruud, the Serb hastily underwent meniscus surgery on his right knee.

Since then, his case has been the subject of much debate. The question is whether he will be able to return to full fitness to play Wimbledon.

While initial diagnoses seemed rather pessimistic, all that may be about to change. Indeed, he seems to be recovering faster than expected, having already arrived in London for training.

While no one is yet in a position to comment on the Djoker's participation, Roddick did express his admiration: "I was on the circuit myself at one time, but I didn't do that. He's not like us. He's a bit different.

It's incredible and I can't believe it. The fact that he's displaying this is because he wants to draw attention to the fact that he's flirting with a Wimbledon appearance and that he's in good health. He certainly doesn't deal with his injuries in private.

It's crazy, he had surgery a week ago (on 6/06 actually, which is 18 days ago)."

I had a small miniscus tear operated on and was allowed back in the gym and rnning 4 days later so long as I promised to take anti inflammatories and ice heavily afterwards. Back to playing basketball and tennis in two weeks.

So it depends on the nature of the injury and surgery.
