Rouvroy falls after a second major battle in Roland-Garros qualifying

Rouvroy faced Stojanovic on court number 7 during the second round of Roland-Garros qualifying. Following her battle against the Japanese player Kaji in the previous round (6-7, 7-5, 7-6), the Frenchwoman had another tough challenge against the world No. 119.

After a first set dominated by Rouvroy (6-3), the match seemed to turn in favor of the 24-year-old as she served for the victory at 5-4, but the Serbian player reversed the momentum to take her opponent to the third set (5-7).

In the third and final set, the player ranked 248th by the WTA initially broke Stojanovic before the Serbian caught up and overtook her. Despite saving five match points, Rouvroy exits the capital before the third round and will not surpass her result from last year when she was defeated by the Russian Avdeeva (6-2, 6-3). The match was very erratic with numerous breaks on both sides and almost 100 unforced errors between them (96).

Stojanovic, on the other hand, will face the American Lepchenko for a place in the main draw of the Parisian Grand Slam.
