Royer withdraws from the ATP tournament in Umag

Royer withdraws from the ATP tournament in Umag

In Croatia, several ATP circuit players will be in Umag next week to compete in the annual tournament. However, multiple withdrawals have already been confirmed.

This includes Stefanos Tsitsipas and Hubert Hurkacz. A third player has now joined the list, and it’s bad news for French tennis as Valentin Royer has pulled out.

Currently ranked 108th in the world (his career-high ranking), Royer is currently competing at the San Marino Challenger and successfully navigated his opening match against Facundo Mena (3-6, 6-2, 6-2).

For a spot in the quarterfinals, he will face Lukas Klein. Two players benefit from his withdrawal by entering the main draw without needing to qualify: Elmer Moller and Dusan Lajovic. With this withdrawal, there are currently no French players in the main draw in Umag.
