Kalinskaya expressed her desire to play mixed doubles at the US Open with Rublev. A surprising statement, as the Russian had already announced his partner in the press—Muchova.

Additionally, this situation sparked discussion due to the 26-year-old player's relationship with world No. 1 Jannik Sinner:

"I had completely forgotten about this tournament. Today, I thought about it and asked Andrey. I wanted to play with him, but he had already made arrangements and didn’t expect me to ask.

I haven’t received any offers so far, I don’t know if I’ll play, we’ll see. Among Russians, I’d only want to play with him. Apparently, I’ll have to look for a foreign partner," she said in comments reported by Tennis World Italia.

When asked about the topic in Madrid, Rublev responded in an interview shared by Fanpage:

"Honestly, I don’t even want to get into the details or try to understand it, because I already have an agreement with Muchova. I didn’t know Anna wanted to play with me. Jannik or no Jannik, I don’t want to get involved. I only found out after she wanted to. What can I say? I’m sorry, but I already made a commitment."

Jannik Sinner

Thanks for the good words of support. And to d smith (cherrycoke) I am moved by your words and wish you had been around to experience what I'm referring to. As it is there are revolving groups of players each week. The ones in question might be moved out to another group 1 week in four. That means for 3 weeks of every 4 there is unfair play. If you are buying boosts the odds are greatly in your f...

There are a group of players who feel the need to win and spend a bunch of money to add boosts to their predictions. That is ok if they have it to spend. Many of us do not.

I feel these should have their own group(s). An extra 4-6-8 points makes a difference in a week. I don't want to play in unfair rules.

To me it's just a game. A good one at that. And the developer deserves to get paid. But se...
