Rune Enlists Agassi to Prepare for Washington Tournament
Andre Agassi, one of tennis’ legends and an icon for an entire generation of fans, was spotted as early as Thursday at the tournament facilities in Washington.
Indeed, the 'Kid from Las Vegas' was overseeing a training session with Holger Rune, the world No. 8. The two agreed to a three-day collaboration: "This isn’t about Rune adding a superstar coach to his team, but rather about seeing if there’s chemistry, if Agassi can bring a fresh perspective and his experience to the project," reports the website Open Court.
Rune, who has secured ten of his season’s victories across two tournaments (Indian Wells and Barcelona), could benefit from Agassi’s advice to regain momentum in the American capital. Despite his return to the top 10, the Dane still lacks consistency in his results.
He will compete in the ATP 500 in Washington for the first time since 2022.
