From April 12 to 20, after the Monte-Carlo Masters 1000 - the first major clay-court tournament of the season - a number of players will be taking part in the ATP 500 tournament in Barcelona.
While Carlos Alcaraz, Casper Ruud (the defending champion) and Andrey Rublev have already been announced in Catalonia, a new player of renown will be present: Holger Rune, currently ranked 14th in the world.
Tournament director David Ferrer is delighted to welcome 21-year-old Rune to the 2025 event: "He's a player I really like.
He has a very good game, which has enabled him to win important titles despite his young age. He's a player with a great future, and I can see him aiming to win Grand Slams like Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.
We can't wait to see him in Barcelona, and I'm sure he'll bring a lot of emotion to the public. To be able to watch him play live is a unique opportunity, and one that people will remember for a long time," reads a statement on the tournament website.
