Rune Overcomes Baez and Advances to Quarterfinals in Barcelona

Holger Rune secured a victory against Sebastian Baez in the Round of 16 at the Barcelona tournament.

After a challenging start, losing the first set, the Dane found his rhythm to claim his second win in Catalonia this season (4-6, 6-1, 6-2).

He notably fired 22 winners and converted 5 out of 11 break points. In the previous round, he defeated Ramos-Viñolas in straight sets (7-5, 6-4).

Following his run at Indian Wells, the world No. 12 has now reached his second quarterfinal of the season. Next, Rune will face the winner of the match between Ruud and Medjedovic.
