Rune Secures Win Against Nava and Joins Halys in the Third Round
Instead of the match between Ben Shelton and Hugo Gaston, which was canceled due to the Frenchman's withdrawal, the evening session on Wednesday featured Holger Rune facing Emilio Nava.
Rune, the world No. 10 and recent Barcelona champion in April, predictably emerged victorious in this three-set match (6-3, 7-6, 6-3) against the world No. 137.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Dane will advance to the third round of Roland-Garros. He will now face Quentin Halys, whom he defeated at the same stage of last year's Wimbledon tournament after rallying from a two-set deficit.
