Ruud Present at Training Ahead of His Return to Competition in Gstaad
Absent from the tour since his second-round defeat at Roland-Garros against Nuno Borges on May 28, Casper Ruud is very close to making his competitive comeback.
After skipping the entire grass season to treat his left knee, which had already troubled him during the clay season, the Norwegian world No. 15 is fine-tuning his preparation for the ATP 250 tournament in Gstaad, scheduled for July 14–20.
A two-time champion in Switzerland (2021 and 2022) and a two-time Roland-Garros finalist, Ruud will be the tournament’s top seed following the withdrawal of world No. 3 Alexander Zverev.
Lacking match rhythm after missing the last month and a half of competition, the 26-year-old will look to get his season back on track and prepare as best as possible for the upcoming North American hard-court swing in the following weeks.
