Rybakina joins Svitolina in the third round in Madrid
Elena Rybakina kicked off her Madrid tournament tonight by facing Bianca Andreescu. The Kazakh player, competing in her first clay-court match of the season, secured a comfortable victory with a score of 6-3, 6-2.
With only two matches under her belt this year, Andreescu couldn’t provide enough resistance on the court of La Caja Mágica. However, she can take satisfaction in having earned her first win of the season in the Spanish capital.
Rybakina, a semifinalist in Madrid last year, continues her journey and will face Elina Svitolina in the third round.
